A man has been jailed for eight years after being convicted of raping a woman in Milton Keynes following an investigation by Thames Valley Police.

Emmanuel Jeche, 28, formerly of Walnut Tree, Milton Keynes, was sentenced at Amersham Crown Court on Thursday, 2 July, after being found guilty of one count of rape.

The conviction followed an eight-day trial at the same court, where a jury unanimously found Jeche guilty on 14 May 2026.

Rape investigation launched

The offence took place in Wolverton, Milton Keynes, during the early hours of 12 June 2021.

The victim reported the rape to Thames Valley Police the following day, prompting detectives to launch an investigation.

Jeche was arrested on 14 June 2021.

Claimed the encounter was consensual

During police interviews, Jeche admitted that sexual intercourse had taken place but claimed it had been consensual.

Following a thorough investigation, he was charged with rape.

After hearing the evidence during the trial, the jury unanimously rejected his account and returned a guilty verdict.

Eight-year prison sentence

Appearing before Amersham Crown Court, Jeche was sentenced to eight years’ imprisonment.

Thames Valley Police praised the victim for her courage and determination throughout the investigation and court proceedings, adding that her support was instrumental in securing the conviction.

Police continue to encourage anyone affected by sexual offences to report them, reassuring victims that specialist officers are available to provide support throughout the criminal justice process
