Emergency services were called to Calverley Road in Tunbridge Wells at around 8.25pm yesterday following reports of a medical emergency. Police and ambulance crews attended the scene, where a man in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead.
The area was cordoned off as police began their inquiries into the incident.
A police spokesperson confirmed, “His next of kin have been informed. His death is being treated as non-suspicious, and a report is being compiled for the coroner.”
The street remained taped off overnight while officers carried out their work at the scene.
A witness close to the location said they returned home around 10pm but could not access the street due to the police cordon. They also observed a private emergency ambulance arrive before police left the area at about 11.30pm.
The sudden death of a local man has left residents shocked as emergency services responded swiftly to the medical incident on a busy town centre road.
