Man Killed in Horror Crash at Portchester Station
A man has tragically died after being hit by a train at Portchester Railway Station this afternoon.
Emergency Services Rush to Scene
The incident happened shortly after lunchtime, with emergency teams called to the station around 2:30pm on Monday. British Transport Police and paramedics attended but the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Delays Hit Portsmouth-Fareham Line
Train services between Fareham and Portsmouth were severely disrupted. Hundreds of passengers were stuck on delayed trains as Southern Rail scrambled to provide replacement buses for affected routes.
Death Not Treated as Suspicious
Officials said the man was struck as a train passed through the station. The death is currently not being treated as suspicious. While the line and Portchester Station have now reopened, Southern warned travellers to expect ongoing delays.
