A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man in his 30s was fatally stabbed in Sutton Coldfield. West Midlands Police were called to Chester Road shortly after midnight on Saturday, August 8, following reports that a man had been stabbed. Officers attended the scene, but the victim was pronounced dead. His family are being supported as detectives investigate the circumstances surrounding his death.
Murder suspect remains in custody
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of murder following the incident and remains in police custody for questioning. Police said they are not looking for anyone else in connection with the death. Officers also believe the victim and the arrested man were known to each other.
Police appeal for witnesses
A police presence remains in the Chester Road area while forensic and investigative work continues. Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area overnight and witnessed anything which could assist the investigation to come forward.
