A man in his 40s was killed in a crash on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing before midday on November 8. Police responded quickly to Junction 30, close to the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, following reports concerning the man’s condition.
The main carriageway was closed temporarily, forcing drivers to use a slip road to avoid the incident. Essex Police confirmed that the death was not suspicious.
The M25 has since reopened, and officers have clarified that this crash was not connected to the earlier protests that disrupted the motorway.
Today’s traffic chaos coincided with the second day of “Just Stop Oil” protests. Activists climbed onto overhead gantries at multiple locations along the M25, including two sites in Essex, causing significant traffic delays.
