Major roadworks are set to cause severe disruption on key routes in South East London and North Kent as the half-term holiday comes to an end. Drivers should expect delays and closures on the M25, A2, and A21 due to essential overnight maintenance work.
M25 Closures Hit Hard This Weekend
From 11pm on Friday, February 16, the M25 will experience multiple lane closures in both clockwise and anticlockwise directions at key junctions throughout the weekend. Anticlockwise lane closures will affect junctions 27 to 25 between 11pm Friday and 5am Saturday, with diversions enforced during this period. Additionally, the entry slip road at junction 26 and the exit slip road at junction 3 anticlockwise will close on Friday night.
The clockwise carriageway will be closed from junction 27 to 28 overnight from Friday into Saturday. Furthermore, the critical anticlockwise link road from junction 6 to the M11 southbound will remain closed all weekend for testing works.
A2 Route Faces Overnight Mayhem
Eastbound closures on the A2 will run from Brenley Corner to Roman Road between 8pm Friday and 6am Saturday. Westbound shutdowns from Bean to Darenth will also take place over the same nights, with diversions in place to manage traffic flow. Additional closures will affect the westbound Three Crutches roundabout to M2 link road and the Tollgate entry slip road overnight on Friday.
A21 Under the Hammer With Nightly Works
Both directions of the A21 between Hurst Green and Baldslow will be closed nightly from 8pm to 6am from Friday through Sunday. Diversions have been set up to help ease traffic congestion during these essential repairs.
