Lost in the Bog: A Family Outing Turns Perilous

A dad and his 10-year-old daughter narrowly avoided serious harm after getting stuck in thick mud during a bike ride on Saturday evening. The duo sparked a major rescue operation when they became trapped in a bog at Beaulieu Road, Beaulieu.

Massive Rescue Effort Unfolds

Fire crews from Lyndhurst, Fareham, and Beaulieu Fire Stations raced to the scene just after 5.20pm. They were joined by a coastguard rescue team from Hillhead and the Coastguard Rescue helicopter, turning the rescue into a full-scale emergency response.

Heroes Use Inflatable Mud Paths to Save the Day

Specialist rescuers laid down inflatable mud paths to safely reach and extract the stranded pair. Both were then airlifted by helicopter from Lee on the Solent to Southampton General Hospital for checks after their harrowing ordeal.
