A serious crash on the busy A53 Leek Road through Endon has forced emergency crews to close the road in both directions this afternoon. Police, paramedics, and fire teams responded to the incident at around 2:31pm, with the closure starting near Clay Lake, close to Endon High School.

The A53, one of North Staffordshire’s busiest routes, is now heavily congested. Long queues have formed in both directions, resulting in major delays for motorists attempting to travel through the area.

Photos from the scene show a large emergency response, including vehicles from Staffordshire Police, Staffordshire Fire and Rescue, and West Midlands Ambulance Service. UKNIP has contacted these teams for updates regarding the cause of the crash and whether there were any injuries.

Staffordshire Police have launched a witness appeal, urging anyone who saw the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward. Those with information are asked to call Staffordshire Police on 101 immediately.

As of 3:31pm, the A53 remains closed to all traffic while emergency crews continue working at the scene. Drivers are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes to prevent further delays.
