The official diversion route is as follows: Exit the M25 at Junction 6 Godstone Interchange and take the 4th exit onto the A22 towards London. Continue on the A22 to Purley Cross, then turn left onto the A23 heading for Brighton via Croydon. Follow the A23 through Coulsdon, then turn left onto the M23 towards Brighton. At M23 Junction 8 / M25 Junction 7, rejoin the M25 heading towards Heathrow.
