Protesters have taken over motorway gantries at several points along the M25 this morning, 7 November, causing widespread disruption. The demonstrators climbed gantries at junction 6, between junctions 8 and 9, between junctions 13 and 12 southbound, and between junctions 13 and 14, leading to major traffic delays.
Police officers are currently managing a protester perched dangerously on the gantry located between junctions 6 and 7 northbound. A specialist protester removal team is on site, preparing to scale the structure to bring the individual down safely.
Due to safety concerns, National Highways has closed the M25 northbound from junction 6 to junction 7. Commuters are experiencing long delays and are advised to avoid the area if possible.
Authorities continue to work on clearing the gantries and restoring normal traffic flow. Updates will be provided as the situation develops.
