Kent Police have launched a major search for witnesses after a serious lorry crash on the M20 coastbound slip road at Junction 9, Ashford. The collision occurred at 3:16pm on Thursday, 5 June 2025, when a lorry veered off the carriageway.
Emergency services including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded swiftly to the scene. The slip road remains closed as recovery teams work and investigators examine the area to determine the cause of the incident.
Authorities have warned drivers to expect significant delays and advised them to find alternative routes while the closure is in place.
Kent’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has launched a full inquiry into the crash. Officers are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage of the lorry or events leading up to the crash to come forward.
Witnesses are urged to contact Kent Police immediately with any information that could assist the investigation. Dashcam owners with relevant footage are also encouraged to share it.
