All emergency services rushed to a serious incident just after 1am this morning on the M2 motorway in Kent. Kent Police are currently conducting collision investigation work, which is expected to take several hours to complete.

National Highways Traffic Officers and service providers are assisting police with traffic management at the scene. The M2 westbound is currently closed, causing major disruption for drivers in the area.

Motorists are urged to follow the solid square diversion signs to bypass the closure. The official diversion route is as follows:

Exit M2 westbound at Junction 3
Join A229 southbound towards Maidstone
Continue on A229 to M20 Junction 6
Join M20 westbound
Exit M20 at Junction 4
At the roundabout, take the third exit onto A228 northbound
Follow A228 northbound to M2 Junction 2
Rejoin M2 westbound and continue your journey

If this closure affects your route, expect lengthy delays. Drivers should allow extra journey time, seek alternative routes, or delay travel if possible.
