Ex-Oasis star Liam Gallagher performed at Knebworth for two nights, but the concerts were overshadowed by significant traffic problems.

On Friday, Hertfordshire Police issued fixed penalty notices to drivers who used the A1(M) motorway as a drop-off zone. Authorities warned fans that this behaviour “would not be tolerated” and urged them to use official on-site parking facilities.

The situation escalated on Saturday when the A1(M) was closed in both directions for two hours. National Highways East confirmed the closure was due to a “police incident” after crowds spilled onto the carriageway, prompting officers to intervene for public safety.

Attendees criticised the event’s management, describing it as “a shambles” and highlighting poor crowd control and traffic organisation. Festival Republic, the event organiser, has been contacted for comment but has not yet responded.
