Rush hour chaos erupted on Kent roads tonight following a two-vehicle collision involving a grey and a red Freelander on the M20 motorway. The crash resulted in one Freelander overturning onto its roof, while the other vehicle mounted the crash barriers, triggering a major tailback heading towards the Channel Tunnel.

Rescue crews responded swiftly to the scene. The overturned Freelander presented a dramatic sight as recovery contractors worked to winch the second car off the barriers. Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended to those involved in the collision.

Highways England closed the London-bound carriageway to facilitate the clearing of the wreckage, which caused significant gridlock extending back to the Channel Tunnel. On the coastbound side, drivers slowed down to observe the recovery efforts, further contributing to the delays.

Details surrounding the cause of the crash remain unclear. Kent Police have launched an investigation and will be speaking to both drivers to determine if any offences were committed. Officials have not yet issued any comments regarding the incident.
