Clever Crow Caper Crushed at Shanklin Golf Club!
Rogue crows and cheeky jackdaws have been turning Shanklin and Sandown Golf Club into their personal rubbish raid zone. These feathered miscreants were trashing the 6,044-yard par 70 course by scavenging litter bins, leaving a messy trail behind.
Island Roads Swings into Action
Thankfully, Island Roads has stepped up with a hero move, donating ten revamped litter bins to stop the avian vandalism. These bird-proof bins, once used on the Island’s highways, have been spruced up and are perfect to keep rubbish safe from pesky scavengers.
Nigel Smith, Island Roads street cleansing guru, said: “We replace bins when they’re worn out, but instead of chucking these away, we’re giving them a new lease of life at the golf club. Recycling at its finest!”
Golfers Cheer the Bin Rescue
Andrew Freeman, 2016 Club Captain, admitted the birds had become a real nuisance. “They ripped open our old open bins, scattering rubbish everywhere. We’re so grateful Island Roads came to the rescue.”
Course boss David McToldridge added: “Working with Island Roads has been fantastic. Together, we’ve nailed a practical fix that’ll keep the course spotless.”
The club’s tidy greens will soon be free of feathered litter bandits thanks to this clever swap.
