A motorcyclist has been critically injured in a serious crash on the A2 between Gravesend and Bluewater. The collision occurred at around 8:15pm near the Wrotham Road junction in Gravesend and the Ebbsfleet junction in Swanscombe.

Emergency crews including police, paramedics, firefighters, and an air ambulance responded quickly to the scene. National Highways teams were also present to assist with the incident.

Due to the severity of the crash, the A2 was completely closed in both directions between Ebbsfleet and Wrotham Road. This closure has caused significant tailbacks and traffic delays on surrounding routes.

Details regarding the motorcyclist’s injuries have not been released, but the presence of multiple emergency services highlights the seriousness of the situation. Authorities are working to clear the wreckage and investigate the cause of the crash.

National Highways has advised motorists to expect delays and avoid the area if possible. The road closure is expected to remain in place until at least 11pm while investigations and clean-up continue.
