Mahmood paid tribute to Henry Nowak, describing him as a kind and hard-working student who was deeply loved by his family and friends. She acknowledged the unimaginable pain Henry’s loved ones are enduring following the senseless attack that took his life.
Vickrum Digwa was handed a life sentence for the murder of Henry Nowak. Mahmood highlighted the seriousness of Digwa’s actions, including the false accusation of racism against Henry while he was dying. Members of Digwa’s family are also facing further legal action as investigations continue.
The Home Secretary addressed public concerns regarding the police handling of the incident, referencing disturbing bodycam footage.
