A heavy goods vehicle (HGV) crashed into the central reservation on the M62 overnight, causing significant disruption. National Highways confirmed that the collision forced the closure of important link roads at Junction 35.

The affected routes include the link from the M62 westbound onto the M18 southbound, and the link from the M18 northbound onto the M62. Both have been closed to allow emergency crews safe access to the scene.

National Highways stated: “Following an earlier collision involving a HGV that has struck the central reservation, the link roads from the M62 west onto the M18 south and the M18 north onto the M62 at J35 remain closed. Emergency barrier repairs are underway with the road remaining closed overnight.”

As repair work continues through the night, drivers are advised to avoid the area and prepare for delays. Updates on the reopening of the roads will be provided as soon as possible.
