A driver had to be cut free after their red Ford Fiesta crashed into a ditch in Boarhunt, near Fareham, on Tuesday evening.

The car reportedly hit flooding on the road, lost control, and ended up in a side ditch.

Two fire crews from Wickham and Fareham were scrambled just before 8pm to tackle the emergency.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the trapped driver, who was complaining of back pain.

Paramedics quickly placed the victim on a spinal board before rushing them to QA Hospital in Cosham via South Central Ambulance Service.
