A driver was trapped and had to be cut free after their car left the road in Boarhunt, just outside Fareham, last night.
The red Ford Fiesta reportedly hit flood water on the road, losing control before ending up in a side ditch. The incident took place shortly before 8pm on Tuesday evening, causing alarm among local residents.
Two fire crews from Fareham and nearby stations raced to the scene. They used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the driver, who was trapped and complaining of back pain.
Once rescued, the driver was carefully placed on a spinal board to prevent further injury. They were then rushed to QA Hospital in Cosham by the South Central Ambulance Service (SCA).
Emergency services were praised for their swift response in tricky flood conditions.
