A Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue spokesperson said: “We received a call at 8.26pm from a member of the public reporting heavy smoke over Studland Heath.
Crews from Swanage, Westbourne, Poole, christchurch/" title="Christchurch" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Christchurch, Hamworthy, and Wimborne are all in action. They brought Land Rover pumps from multiple locations, plus a Unimog from Wareham and a water carrier from Poole.
600 Square Metres of Heathland Ablaze
Firefighters are battling flames across around 600 square metres of heathland. Their main focus is building a fire break to shield nearby homes from the growing inferno.
