Kent Police are investigating an incident where a woman was bitten by a dog while waiting at the East Street traffic lights in Faversham last Wednesday afternoon.
The event occurred at around 4pm on November 27, when a stocky dark brown dog on a lead suddenly jumped up and bit the woman’s arm. Fortunately, the woman’s thick clothing prevented any injury.
The dog’s owner, described as a white male in his 20s, reportedly swore at the victim before leaving the scene. Police have provided a description of the man as approximately 5ft 10in tall, slim, missing several teeth, and wearing dark blue jeans and a dark hooded top.
The dog involved is described as having an approximate height of 3ft, a stocky build, and wearing a black collar with gold detailing.
PC Sophie Rumsey commented on the incident: “The dog involved in this incident was allegedly out of control, and while the victim was protected from injury by her clothing, we are concerned that another member of the public or a child could have come to harm. We are keen to trace the dog’s owner and are urging witnesses to call our appeal line.”
