Surrey Police are urgently seeking witnesses following a tragic crash on the M23 near Gatwick that resulted in the death of a pedestrian.
The fatal collision occurred at around 1am between junctions 8 and 9. The incident involved a van, a heavy goods vehicle (HGV), and a pedestrian who sadly lost their life.
As a result of the crash, the M23 has been closed in both directions. Authorities have stated that the motorway will remain shut until at least 8am, advising drivers to find alternative routes during this time.
Surrey Police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage to come forward and assist with their ongoing investigation.
