Fire crews were kept busy this Easter Monday after three teenagers became stuck in mud at Gosport. The incident occurred just after 4.20pm at Haslar Bridge, prompting a swift rescue mission.
A 16-year-old girl and two 14-year-old boys were stranded when their boat became lodged in the mud. A specialist water rescue team from Fareham was quickly dispatched to assist and pull the teens to safety.
The Fareham water rescue crew successfully freed the boat from the sandbar by 5.30pm, bringing relief to the stranded trio. Paramedics from South Central Ambulance Service attended the scene to check the teenagers, although it remains unclear if anyone required hospital treatment.
Additional support was provided by a Gosport fire crew and a coastguard team based at Hillhead, who joined the rescue effort to ensure the teens were safely brought back to dry land.
This incident marked a dramatic start to the Easter holidays for Hampshire emergency services.
