Police are seeking witnesses after a pedestrian was seriously injured in a car crash late on Friday night in East Ham.

The collision occurred at around 11.20pm on June 19 at the junction of Tilbury Road and High Street South. The scene is currently under full investigation, and High Street South remains closed to traffic while officers search the area for evidence.

The pedestrian was struck by a car whose driver stopped immediately and attempted to assist the victim. Emergency services, including paramedics, specialist HART teams from the London Ambulance Service, and doctors from the London Air Ambulance, responded quickly to the incident.

The Metropolitan Police Roads Policing team is now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward. They are especially interested in speaking with a bus driver who was behind a white car just before the crash.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: “Can you help our collision investigation team? We are appealing for witnesses to a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Friday, June 19th at around 11.20pm on High Street South in East Ham. The pedestrian was seriously injured. The driver stopped and assisted, but we need more witnesses.”

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is urged to contact police on 101 immediately.
