A house fire broke out in Bean, Dartford, during the early hours of Sunday, resulting in one individual being hospitalised due to smoke inhalation.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded promptly to the incident on High Street at approximately 4:18am. Two fire engines arrived at the scene, with crews equipped with breathing apparatus and using high-pressure hose jets to combat the flames.
The fire was brought under control and completely extinguished by 5:00am.
The person affected by smoke inhalation received urgent medical attention from paramedics of the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) at the scene before being taken to hospital.
Subsequent investigations confirmed the cause of the fire was accidental. Authorities have reminded residents to remain vigilant by regularly checking smoke alarms and avoiding common fire risks such as unattended cooking and overloaded electrical sockets.
