A collision on the busy M20 smart motorway tonight caused major delays for drivers heading coastbound in Kent. The smash happened between Junction 3 (M26) and Junction 4 near West Malling, forcing two lanes to shut.
Despite efforts to restore traffic, lanes three and four remained closed well after the crash. Emergency services including police, ambulance, and National Highways rushed to the scene.
At 7 p.m., National Highways South-East confirmed recovery was underway and warned of a 25-minute delay backed up by 3.5 miles of traffic.
By 8:40 p.m., traffic reports confirmed the M20 was clear again and lanes fully reopened, bringing relief to frustrated motorists stuck in the evening jam.
