In a dramatic rescue this afternoon, Coastguard Helicopter Rescue 175 airlifted a patient from St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight. The helicopter, based in Lee on the Solent, played a vital role in the swift lifesaving operation.
After the airlift, the helicopter safely touched down back at its base. A Coastguard Search and Rescue team from Hillhead was present to assist with the critical medical transfer.
The patient was then promptly handed over to the South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, ensuring that expert medical care continues on land.
