Jenner revealed that her renewed U.S. passport now lists her as “male” despite her legal gender change, leaving her stranded abroad and furious.
This passport issue originates from a controversial executive order signed by Donald Trump in January 2025. The former president mandated that all federal identification documents, including passports, must display the holder’s biological sex at birth, effectively reversing years of progress on gender recognition.
Jenner’s attempt to update her records with a female birth certificate was outright rejected by the U.S. State Department. The mismatch in her identification has created a significant “safety factor,” according to Jenner, making international travel impossible.
In response to the situation, Jenner wrote a personal letter to Trump outlining the damage caused by the policy but did not receive a reply. Speculation suggests Trump may have been preoccupied with other matters, such as the Iran crisis or UFC events.
Despite the passport debacle, Jenner remains a committed Trump supporter. She suggested that the policy’s implementation was not directly Trump’s doing, stating that “someone underneath” him must be responsible. Jenner recalled that Trump once welcomed her to use the bathrooms at Trump Towers and noted that she voted for him.
Whether Trump will address and resolve the passport issue remains uncertain. Given the current political challenges in Washington, Jenner may face a prolonged wait before the situation is rectified.
