A British mixed martial arts fighter with a middle-class upbringing in Edgware has been charged with the brutal, random killing of two women and a violent attack on a homeless man in Georgia, USA.
Olaolukitan Adon Abel, 26, allegedly shot 31-year-old Prianna Weathers outside a restaurant before a drive-by attack left a 49-year-old homeless man critically injured. Abel then stabbed and shot 40-year-old Lauren Bullis while she was walking her dog. Both women died from their wounds.
Georgia police described the spree as “acts of pure evil” with no apparent motive.
Born and raised in a £480,000 north London family home, Abel’s father is a former British police officer and prison warden who later became an author and artist. His mother works as a business analyst. Abel attended a local state school, excelled in mixed martial arts, and served in the Army Cadet Force.
He moved to the United States in 2019 and joined the Navy, but his service ended abruptly after a 2024 conviction for assaulting two police officers with a deadly weapon at Naval Base Coronado, California. He also pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual battery after groping a woman in Georgia.
Despite his “comfortable upbringing,” Abel’s criminal record included warnings such as sexual assault and violent attacks on officers. Many are questioning how he remained free before this devastating spree.
Now charged with malice murder, aggravated assault, and firearms offences, the former MMA fighter faces a bleak future behind bars.
“Acts of pure evil,” said Georgia police, describing Abel’s shocking attacks. Our thoughts go out to the victims and their families.
