Man Found Dead on Launders Lane in Rainham
Police made a grim discovery on Launders Lane at 8:20am this morning (October 18) when officers found a man’s body during a search operation.
Missing Person Case Sparks Search
The investigation took off after Essex Police flagged a missing person case to the Met on October 16. The Metropolitan Police officially took over the case the following day.
Roads Shut as Police Probe Continues
- Launders Lane is closed both ways between Lambs Lane and Wennington Road.
- The entrance from New Road is also blocked off.
- Officers are deep into enquiries trying to identify the man and notify his next of kin.
A Met spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been recovered from Launders Lane, Rainham. The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are underway to identify the man and to inform his next of kin.”
