A terrifying blaze broke out on Sunday afternoon in Herne Bay, prompting a rapid response from firefighters who rushed to save the property from being engulfed by flames.
The emergency call was received at 12:38pm, dispatching two fire engines to the scene. Fire crews quickly put on breathing apparatus and tackled the fire using hose reel jets and foam to control the spreading inferno threatening the home.
Despite heroic efforts, one resident sustained minor burns to the head. Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service were present to provide urgent medical assistance and stabilised the injured person at the scene.
As the flames were brought under control, fire investigators discovered a concerning detail: the bungalow did not have any working smoke alarms. Authorities are now investigating the cause of the fire to help prevent similar incidents in the future.
