Thames Valley Police are currently searching for the individual responsible after a 5G telecom mast was deliberately set on fire in Milton Keynes. The incident occurred on Tuesday evening, causing significant disruption in the Oldbrook area.
Between 8:15pm and 9:00pm on 31st March 2026, a fire broke out on a 5G mast located at the busy junction of Saxon Street and Dexter Avenue. Emergency services responded promptly, evacuating nearby homes as a precautionary measure to ensure residents’ safety.
The fire brigade acted quickly to extinguish the flames, and fortunately, no injuries were reported. Residents have since been allowed to return to their properties following the successful containment of the fire.
Police have released a description of the suspect involved in the arson. The individual is described as a slim man wearing a light-coloured baseball cap, a black tracksuit top with white stripes along the arms, and light-coloured trousers.
Detective Constable Jordan Wallace stated: “We believe this fire was started deliberately and are treating it as arson. We urge anyone who witnessed the incident or who has dash-cam, CCTV or doorbell footage to come forward.”
