A serious crash has completely closed the A27 in East Sussex between the A26 at Beddingham and the A2270 at Polegate. Emergency crews were called to the scene just before 11pm last night after two vehicles collided.
Sussex Police are leading a multi-agency response to the incident. East Sussex Fire & Rescue sent two fire engines and crews who quickly extinguished a small car fire and secured the area to ensure safety.
The South East Coast Ambulance Service is also present at the scene, providing medical assistance as needed.
National Highways teams are managing the road closures and directing traffic around the crash site. Drivers are strongly advised to avoid the area and use alternative routes until the A27 reopens to traffic.
