Fire crews rushed to Tilbury Docks this afternoon to tackle a significant blaze. Essex County Fire and Rescue Service (ECFRS) confirmed the fire was accidental, bringing it under control by 1pm. After working closely with port staff, firefighters fully extinguished the flames and left the scene by 2pm on Friday, 12 September.

Specialist Support from Airport-Style Fire Engine

A unique “airport-style” fire engine, from a nearby company, joined the effort. ECFRS praised the vehicle’s support, calling it a “great help” and highlighting the joint effort as true #teamwork.

Smoke Seen Near Wood Reclamation Area

Witnesses spotted smoke rising near the wood reclamation zone at the entrance to Terminal 2, visible from surrounding areas. Despite the flames, no injuries have been reported so far.
