Around 30 firefighters and five fire engines raced to tackle a blaze that tore through roughly 100 solar panels atop a large store this morning.
Solar Panels Go Up in Smoke
The fire ripped through a section of the roof on Drury Way after igniting the solar panels. Flames caused heavy damage, but crews acted fast to control the inferno.
Quick Evacuation, No Harm Done
About 250 shoppers and staff were evacuated swiftly. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. Emergency services jumped into action after twelve calls starting at 10:35 AM.
Firefighters Battle Blaze from Above
Teams from Park Royal, Wembley, Willesden, and North Kensington fire stations joined forces. They deployed a 32-metre turntable ladder, using it as a water tower to drench the flames. The fire was fully out by 12:44 PM.
Cause of Fire Still Unknown
Officials are now probing what sparked the blaze. The investigation is ongoing.
