Deadly Crash Hits Rush Hour
The smash happened around 6.30pm, right when the capital was buzzing with homebound commuters. Emergency services rushed the critically injured man to hospital, but he later died.
Police Watchdog Steps In
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) was called in by the Met Police and swiftly launched an investigation. Officials are probing the cause of the deadly collision.
Heartfelt Plea to Witnesses
“Our thoughts are with the man’s family, friends, and all those affected by his death. It’s important we establish all the circumstances surrounding this incident, and we are in the very early stages,” said IOPC director Emily Barry.
She added: “The collision happened on a busy road in London in the early evening when people are likely to have been travelling. We would urge anyone who witnessed the incident or the moments leading up to it to come forward and report what they saw.”
