Man Dies in Shocking Clapham Double Shooting
Metropolitan Police have launched a murder probe after a double shooting in Clapham turned deadly. One man was killed, while another fought for his life in hospital.
What Happened?
The drama unfolded on Monday, 8 September, at around 8:50pm on New Park Road. Police and London Ambulance rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire. They found two men, aged 20 and 27, with gunshot injuries.
The 27-year-old sadly died in hospital in the early hours of Tuesday, 9 September. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers. The 20-year-old survived; his wounds are serious but not life-threatening or life-changing.
Investigation Underway
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Lee is leading the inquiry. She told reporters: “My team are working at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to this man’s tragic death. Our thoughts remain with the victim’s family and friends at this very difficult time.”
A crime scene is still in place, and police have boosted patrols around New Park Road. They urge local residents to check doorbell or CCTV footage and come forward with any info.
