Riot Gear Police Storm East London Home After Assault Report

Police in east London swooped on a property this morning after a man allegedly barricaded himself inside following an assault.

Armed Police Seal Off Dagenham Street

Officers were called to Hedgemans Road, Dagenham, at 8.45am on September 1 after reports of an assault. They traced the suspect to a nearby address on Tilney Road.

The 38-year-old man locked himself inside, sparking a tense stand-off.

Specialist Riot Officers Move In

Police quickly put up cordons and deployed specialist officers in riot gear. Armed with shields, they surrounded the property, ensuring public safety while trying to negotiate with the man.

After talks, the suspect was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH) and public order offences.

A dog was also seized from the address during the operation.

Police Confirm Ongoing Investigation

“Police were called at 08:44 on Monday, 1 September to Hedgemans Road, Dagenham to reports of an assault. Officers attended and located a suspect at a property nearby on Tilney Road. The suspect barricaded himself inside the property and cordons were put in place to ensure the safety of members of the public as officers attempted to engage with the man.

Specialist officers attended and a man, aged 38, was arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and public order offences. He remains in custody.

A dog was also seized from the address. The cordon has now been removed and enquiries are ongoing.”

Cordon Lifted, Residents Return Home

The police lifted the cordon later in the morning, allowing residents to return to their homes. Enquiries into the incident continue.
