Wigan detectives are actively hunting Scott Higgins from Kirkhall Lane, Leigh, after a firearm was discharged on Fisher Close. The incident occurred on Saturday, 8 July 2023.

At around 10pm, Greater Manchester Police (GMP) received multiple calls reporting a suspected firearm going off. Fortunately, no injuries were reported during the incident.

Officers are pursuing all leads to resolve the case and locate Scott Higgins. To assist in the search, police have released an image of Higgins and are appealing for dashcam, doorbell, CCTV footage, and eyewitness reports.

Detective Superintendent Simon Hurst urged the public and Higgins’ friends and family to come forward with any information. He stated, “We are actively looking for Scott Higgins, who we believe can assist us with our investigation. If anyone has info on his whereabouts, please get in touch. Anyone helping him evade police could face charges.”

Det Supt Hurst added, “This is a serious incident and we urge people not to approach Higgins but to contact us immediately on 999 or 101, quoting log number 3918-080723. You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”

The police continue to work around the clock to find Scott Higgins and bring clarity to this alarming firearms case in Wigan.
