Police are currently searching for the owner of a Weimaraner dog that attacked another dog at Gedling Country Park in Lambley. The incident involved the Weimaraner, which was reportedly off its lead, biting a Hungarian Vizsla on her side. The attack caused injuries that required the Vizsla to receive three stitches.
The attack occurred around 9am on Tuesday, 7 March 2023, near Spring Lane. The owner of the Weimaraner was described as a white man, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with a slim to medium build, and aged in his late 40s to early 50s. He was wearing a fluorescent orange jacket and a dark bobble hat at the time of the incident.
Police Constable Annie Bloomfield of Nottinghamshire Police commented on the case, stating, “This was an extremely alarming and distressing incident for the injured dog’s owner. Our inquiries are ongoing to understand the full circumstances of what happened. We urge the owner of the offending dog to come forward, or anyone who recognises him from the description, to get in touch.”
