A 17-year-old boy has tragically died after being hit by a car in a hit-and-run on Dawlish Drive, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire Police confirmed.
The crash occurred at around 6pm on Friday, 17 October in Bentilee. The teenager was struck by a vehicle, which then sped off without stopping.
Emergency crews from West Midlands Ambulance Service rushed to the scene. Roads including Dawlish Drive, Wellfield Road, and Bargrave Street were closed while paramedics attended to the injured boy.
The teenager suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. Despite intensive treatment, he died in the early hours of Saturday, 18 October. Specialist officers are supporting the devastated family during this tragic time.
Staffordshire Police quickly arrested two local teens aged 17 and 16 on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. Both remain in custody as investigations continue.
