Two people were taken to hospital after an early morning arson attack in Folkestone, Kent Police have confirmed. The incident occurred on Richmond Street in the early hours of Tuesday 25 February 2020.

Emergency services were alerted at around 2.20am following reports of a fire at a property. Fire crews, ambulance teams, and police officers quickly responded to the scene to tackle the blaze.

The fire was primarily contained to the front door area of the house. Two residents were treated for smoke inhalation and taken to hospital as a precaution.

Kent Police are now appealing for information from the public. Investigators have asked anyone who witnessed suspicious activity or has CCTV or dashcam footage from the area between 1.30am and 2.45am to come forward.

A police spokesperson said, “If you saw anything suspicious or unusual, please contact Kent Police on 01843 222289, quoting crime reference 46/35377/20.”
