Thieves have broken into garages and sheds across the Grange, Rowner, and Holbrook areas of Gosport overnight. Police report a series of break-ins with tools and machinery stolen from multiple locations.
Local Hampshire Police officers are urging residents to review what they keep in their garages and sheds. “Please think carefully about securing high-value items and check your security arrangements,” they said.
Police also encourage anyone who spots suspicious activity to report it immediately. Residents should call 101 for non-emergencies or dial 999 if they believe a crime is in progress. “Don’t leave it to someone else or wait until the morning,” the force warned.
Officers are asking locals to come forward with information about anyone trying to sell tools door-to-door, especially if they are being sold cheaply. “They could even be your neighbours,” police cautioned.
