Police in South London arrested a teenage boy on Friday, April 9, in connection with a series of shocking child sex crimes reported in Peckham Rye Park. The arrest took place at around 4pm when officers caught a boy matching the suspect’s description in the park.
The teenager was taken to a south London police station and has since been bailed to return in late April as investigations remain ongoing.
This arrest follows reports of a man exposing himself to girls under the age of 13, with multiple incidents occurring over several months. The reported incidents include:
- 31 December 2020: At around 5pm, a male exposed himself to a young girl and then attempted to sexually assault her. The suspect fled after the girl screamed.
- 2 March 2021: At approximately 4pm, a man exposed himself and performed a lewd act in front of two girls.
- 28 March 2021: Around 4pm, a male exposed himself to another girl.
Detectives are continuing to investigate the case and have urged the public to come forward with any information.
