Tragedy struck Hazel Grove on Saturday night when a 17-year-old boy was found fatally stabbed at the junction with Sydenham Road. Police were called at 7.19pm following reports of an injured male lying on the ground.

Officers, alongside medics from London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene. Despite their efforts, the young victim was pronounced dead shortly after 8pm. His family have been informed.

A crime scene remains in place as officers increase their presence in the area. Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward. Witnesses should call 101 with the reference CAD6072/10APR.
