Emergency services responded to a serious two-vehicle crash on A28 Island Road just before 12.20pm on Friday 9 August 2024. The collision occurred between Sarre and Upstreet and involved a grey Lexus and a double-decker bus.

Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue attended the scene. Eight people sustained injuries in the incident. Seven of those injured suffered minor injuries, while a man in his 60s was airlifted to a hospital in London with serious injuries. His next of kin have been informed.

Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the crash and has not yet spoken to officers to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 123. Police are seeking further information to assist with their investigation.
