Police are actively searching for Michael Lawson, 55, in connection with an alleged rape that took place in Soho, W1. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 17 June, and authorities are appealing for public assistance to locate him.
The victim, a lone woman, was in Soho with friends before the attack. Shortly after parting ways with her friends, she was subjected to a traumatic assault. Police have released a photograph of Lawson and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Michael Lawson is described as a black male, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with a medium, stocky build. He has a distinctive scar under his left eye. Officers believe he may be using an alias, which is complicating the search efforts.
Authorities warn that Lawson is known to frequent Soho and may have access to a vehicle. There is concern he could be posing as an unlicensed cab driver. The public is advised not to approach him if spotted but to call 999 immediately.
Detective Inspector Luke Bacon, who is leading the Rape and Serious Sexual Offences unit, said, “We urge anyone with information, no matter how small, to come forward. Your tip could be crucial in finding Lawson and delivering justice.”
The victim is currently receiving specialist support. Authorities have emphasized their commitment to combating violence against women and girls and pledged to keep communities safe.
