Police have launched a desperate manhunt for two men linked to a savage acid attack in Plymouth. The suspects were caught on CCTV in Grittleton, near Chippenham, just hours after the shocking assault.
The attack occurred in the early hours of Friday, 21 February, at a property on Lipson Road, Plymouth. A man in his 20s suffered life-threatening injuries after being doused with a corrosive substance. He remains in critical condition as medics continue to battle to save him.
The two suspects, described as black males in their early 20s, were last seen wearing all-black clothing. CCTV footage shows them in the village of Grittleton, about seven miles northwest of Chippenham, shortly after the attack. Police believe they travelled northbound and are combing the Wiltshire area for leads.
Detective Inspector Sarah Langley of Devon and Cornwall Police said: “This was a horrific and targeted attack that has left a young man fighting for his life. We are doing everything we can to trace those responsible and are appealing for the public’s help.”
“The CCTV footage shows the two men in Grittleton following the attack. We urge anyone who saw these individuals or noticed anything suspicious to come forward.”
Authorities have warned the public not to approach the suspects if spotted. Instead, they should contact police immediately.

Officers especially want to hear from anyone in the Grittleton area with dashcam, CCTV, or doorbell footage from the early hours of 21 February. Any information, no matter how small, could be vital.
DI Langley added: “We understand this incident has caused huge concern locally. We are dedicating major resources to this investigation and will work tirelessly until these dangerous individuals are caught.”
