Emergency crews rushed to Mount Harry Road at the junction with the A225 in Sevenoaks after a 79-year-old man was hit by a car while crossing the road. The incident occurred at around 1.25pm on Tuesday, 12 August.
The victim was struck by a red Mazda, which stopped at the scene. Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service treated the pensioner before rushing him to hospital, where his condition remains critical.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) is leading the investigation and has issued an urgent appeal for witnesses. Kent Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has dashcam or CCTV footage from the area to come forward.
A Kent Police spokesperson said, “We are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has dashcam footage from the area, to get in touch. Even the smallest detail could assist our investigation.”
